Went here for our anniversary after reading great reviews and it did not disappoint. Great service, great food, great drinks, great atmosphere. Very romantic and relaxing. Wonderful homemade food, even homemade salad dressings that were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend it. Will definitely come back again.

Food was excellent! Had some dinner at the bar. The service is very professional and excellent as well. They make a great cocktail! All protocols for covid followed to the letter! Try the scallops.. really good, broiled lobster tail... The chef and staff are awesome! Melanie, who was behind the bar, and took care of us, was the highlight of our visit.. 5***** Melanie!

Dinner was amazing. Lived in Queensbury since 1978. Never been here and don’t know why. Steak was on par with Ridge Terrace and Log Jam. Salad dressings are all made in house. Sides were delicious. Drinks were well made. Bill was as expected. Definitely will return and will tell family and friends about this place. Thank you Angela our waitress.

Stopping at Lake George tired and very hungry on our way back from the New Hersey shore, we happened upon the Caldwell House Restaurant by chance and decided to try it out. The place looked very busy but smelled like heaven. We did not have reservations and those ahead of us all did so we expected a long wait but to our surprise we were seated promply and our food was served equally quickly. Our meal at Caldwell House was incredibly tasty. We were blessed to have found this place and we will definitely try it again next time we pass through Lake George.

Overall my experience was, mah. I would rate the dessert and service five stars! Sadly the restaurant and the food are the reason I would not return.The restaurant can use some work, it was small and dingy. The prices are sky high for no reason. The food was Not impressive. I found the food to be flavorless and the plating very boring. For the prices I would expect a better atmosphere and tasty food.Service was great thanks to Lisa. She was professional and very pleasant! In fact she was the only part of the restaurant that matched the price of the food.The dessert and the service saved the evening. We had the coconut creme pie and it was perfect. Packed full of flavor and had amazing texture without being too sweet.This restaurant needs to step up their game if they are going to expect people to pay thirty plus dollars a plate.

Stumbled upon this little gem in Lake George. With a fantastic early bird menu at $21.00 it cant be beat. Homemade blue cheese dressing, warm fresh bread and even crackers with cheese spread made my dining experience very enjoyable. The bar is fully stocked with a great selection of wine. The service was absolutely top notch. They even have a wood burning fireplace in the main dining room. Thanks for a great time Caldwell house

By far the best restaurant we have been to, the food and the atmosphere were perfect and our waitress Kristen was awesome. A must visit and reservations are recommend.

This place was great. I know they don't have a menu, but take the chance like my fiancee and I did. The food was fresh, great, and inexpensive.

The preparation and taste is superior. It's Mama's home cooking in a refined atmosphere. Early bird from 4:30-6:00 at $21 provides salad, bread, app., full meal & dessert. The steak was sliced deliciously, potatoes silky, gravy smooth and salad with blue cheese chunks...mmm.mmm...good!

I had stuffed scallops, wife had the sirloin. Despite the COVID restrictions in place we had an excellent celebration of our 44th anniversary. Don't overlook this place. Great food, drinks at a good price.

Since George's closed, we didn't know where to go for a great meal. Well, this is the place!!!!!! Before 6pm they have some good dinner specials including prime rib!! Our waitress was Deborah Ann (same name as me 😁).She was wonderful!!! Very attentive to our needs. It was my birthday and she came over to the table with a piece of cake and candles. When you go to this restaurant, ask for her if you want the best!! Flawless experience all around. We will be returning. FYI: MAKE RESERVATIONS.

Wonderful restaurant, from the professional staff to the amazing food. Started with a cup of Philly Cheese steak soup. Out of this world! The house salad dressing was something I never heard of before and it was also delicious. The entree was "melt in your mouth" Prime Rib for me and Osso Buco for the wife served with baby carrots that were cooked in a combo of orange juice and butter. Amazing! Everything was wonderful including the atmosphere. We will definitely make this a regular stop the next time we visit.

I had the stuffed scallops and they were delicious! My fiancé had prime rib and it was the best I’ve ever had. (I could not help but sneak some bites of his dinner because it looked so good!) Service was excellent as well. We are not from the area but next time we are, we will definitely return.

A really great find.You get a great quantity of delicious food for the price. The setting is very casual and welcoming. But you really just go for the food. If you can get there for the early bird special everything is an even better deal.Between the great celery seed house dressing salad, the great crab and tomato special appetizer, the bone marrow, and the absolutely massive drunken ribeye, I have no complaints. Everything was cooked so well and tasted delicious.Everyone around the table agreed that this was the best meal we had in the area.

What a dinner! Even though I frequent the Lake George area, tonight was my first (but definitely NOT last) visit to The Caldwell House. The ambiance was great and the food and service don't have adequate adjectives to describe. Do yourself a favor and make it a MUST on your list!

Great food. Great atmosphere. Staff were friendly, and there were a variety of drink options. Higher end food in a more casual setting was nice. I highly recommend it.

It’s like enjoying a meal in a bit of history. The food was delicious (get the sour cream and onion mashed potatoes, you won’t regret it)! Steak was a little too charred for my liking but it was still delicious. If you like a good martini or cocktail, check it out!

We were 6 people with reservation for 7.30. Sat immediately. Everyone's food was outstanding. Will definitely come again. Prime rib and the cowboy steaks were superb. Waitress said the king cut prime rib and cowboy steaks were 22oz. No way, they were at least 36oz steaks. Place was great.

We stopped on impulse and had no reservation. We were seated quickly, greeted by the waitress and had our drinks within minutes. The food was phenomenal! We have driven by several times, and now this restaurant is a new fave. Highly recommend.

This place was fabulous, the food was wonderful, portions were plentiful. The staff were pleasant. The place was clean in this new post Covid 19 World. We are from out of town and felt very welcome. Thank you so much. We will definitely be back on our next visit.

Amazing!! Prime Rib was the best I ever had. My brother ordered the Queen... got the king and HOLY COW!! It was plenty to feed all of us!!! Food was good... service was good... place was beautiful! Definitely 5 star!

Great food, service, staff and atmosphere. It is well worth the price. I had the fillet and stuffed scallops and it was perfectly cooked.

Great local place to eat. Just remember you're clothes may smell like firewood upon leaving.

My experience was mixed. The beef dishes were tasty and very generous, but the crab-stuffed shrimp was just OK (the Béarnaise sauce tasted like it was from a jar and the crab stuffing was definitely not lump crabmeat). Service was good.

Had baked stuffed flounder. Stuffed with crab meat stuffing delicious. My husband had scallops also stuffed with crab meat stuffing and he said they where also delicious. New friends of ours choose a most delicious and extremely large rib eye steak. Friendly bartenders,friendly wait stuff. Really great service. Definitely would come here again. Recommended you do too.

Simply fantastic! We went for early bird seating (must be seated by 6pm). We typically dine later but it saved $10-20+ per person. Food was incredible, service was excellent.

Service was beyond exceptional! We were a group of 8. Everything was taken care! Before the water glass was empty the staff was refilling it! The food was amazing I had bone marrow and crab cakes as an app. Never had bone marrow, but hey gave it a whirl and would definitely get it again if I saw it on a menu. For the main meal I got the drunken rib eye and it was totally not what I was expecting better than prime rib, cooked perfectly. I did not think a rib eye could be that big but here it was falling of the sides of the plate. Also got the baked potato with it and the waiter came around with a caddy filled with toppings for it... sour cream, bacon, scallions. That definitely adds to the level of service.I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu!

After driving past hundreds of times, we finally had dinner there. Everything was excellent. Can't wait to go back.

Loved the atmosphere and the food. Had the queen sized prime rib...it was huge. I'm a good eater but had to take some home.
